about us.

the purple koi project seeks to provide an approachable platform to spread awareness about mental health and allow others to share their stories from an authentic, unfiltered perspective. through online submissions and interviews, we aim to inform others while widening the lens we view our world with. by acknowledging the historical and social struggles people from all walks of life have faced, we hope to break the perceived barriers dividing our diverse community to foster empathy and understanding between others.

Hello! My name is Nathan and I am currently a junior at LGHS. Purple Koi Project represents, to me, a long overdue space where mental health stories are taken seriously and action can be taken to address inequalities. As someone who has struggled with mental health in the past, I am very thankful that Purple Koi Project was founded and has the resources to support others in learning about mental health. I personally encourage you to share your stories with us so we can benefit others who struggle with their own mental health! :)
